Bill Gates retains the title, "The richest man on the world", in a recent assessment by Forbes Magazine. In these troubled days of business, the billionaires across the world has lost billions of dollars. While 1125 people have found there place in the billionaires list in 2008, year 2009 has accounted for only 793 people.
Due to the recession, Bill Gates lost 18 Billion in value and yet topped the list with a net worth of 40 billion dollars. With a net asset of 37 Billion, Warren Buffet stands in the 2nd place where he lost 25 billion dollars in the last year.

Every time a minute pass on 5 people around the world is loosing their jobs, as per recent reports.
The first two months in 2009 recorded around 400,0000 job loss as per the reports. These job loses are thru various means like termination as part of the recession, VRS packages, forced terminations and forced unpaid vacations.
Last year around 10 million people faced job loss as part of global recession. As we are not seeing much progression in the global economic situation, this year also expected to have the similar amount job loss.

Starting Nov 23, the charges of phone calls to Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh are being cut by 50 percent and they will cost 150 fils per minute while those to Sri Lanka, Indonesia and Philippines are being cut by a similar margin and will cost 170 fils per minute, reports Al-Jarida daily.

Wataniya Telecom and Zain, Kuwait’s main two mobile operators, announced Wednesday that the addition of one extra digit to all mobile telephone numbers will be up and running this month. In a joint press release, they stated that beginning Sept 19, all Zain customers will add a “9†to their mobile phone numbers, and Wataniya customers will add a “6†to their mobile phone numbers. From Friday, Sept 19, customers will be able to call either the old seven-digit phone numbers or the new eight-digit phone numbers and their phone calls will be connected.

Expatriates eager to legalise their illegal residency status would be more than welcome to do so and the Interior Ministry would help on this aspect, said an official Wednesday. Interior Ministry’s undersecretary for citizenship affairs and passports Major-General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Sabah told the press after a meeting for the technical committee to implement the new deportation law that Kuwait’s leadership decision to allow residency violators to leave the country without paying fines was a humanitarian step.

Interior Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Khaled Al-Sabah yesterday issued a decree granting expatriates living illegally in the country an amnesty period to legalize their status or leave the state without paying a fine. The decision, issued on the orders of HH the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah on the advent of the holy fasting month of Ramadan, applies to almost all expatriates living illegally in the country. Tens of thousands of foreigners are expected to take advantage of the amnesty, which begi
ns on September 1 and expires on October 15.

Theatre lovers across the Middle East will get the opportunity to appreciate the stage performances of Malayalam film industry's most versatile actors, Mohanlal and Mukesh.
This October and November, Chayamukhy or Mirroring the Mind – based on the Indian epic Mahabharat – will be staged in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Ras Al Khaimah.
The UAE marks the first international destination for Chayamukhy, which opened to rave reviews in India. The two-hour long drama is presented by Kalidasa Visual Magic and directed by Prashanth Narayanan.
